New Jersey has a great program for homeowners.  It’s called the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR which offers “whole house” solutions to help reduce both your energy usage and costs. Did you know that more than half of your homes total energy usage is directly associated with heating and cooling.  Simply by purchasing new energy efficient upgrades in your home such as a new furnace, Air Conditioner, and/or Water Heater and upgrading your homes attic insulation you can save up to 30% on energy costs and increase the comfort, safety, and durability of your home.

The New Jersey Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program offers financial incentives on energy efficient improvement packages. New Jersey homeowners have until June 30, 2015 to receive up to $5,000 in financial incentives and may qualify for 0% interest financing (up to $10,000) to help pay for the energy-efficient upgrades! The 0% loan paid back directly through your utility bill is usually less than your total dollar savings on your utility bills.  The more energy savings measures you decide to install, the greater the incentive you may be eligible to receive.

If you can answer Yes to any of these questions then your home may qualify for the New Jersey Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program.

  2. Does your furnace and / or hot water heater have a constant pilot light?
